To get acquainted, I have spent a lifetime in various business roles.  Some smaller than others but fairly diverse covering both management and sales.  One thing I've learned is that aside from industry specifics, much of business is fundamentally the same.  If you want to increase profits you have to either increase sales, raise prices, cut costs or a combination of the three.  My focus here will be specifically small businesses.  Mostly because they have been largely ignored in favor of the unicorns and media darlings but continue to be the backbone of our country.  The plumber, mechanic, restaurant owner may have a small footprint individually but collectively are vital to the well being of their communities and our country.
